...who doesn't like it when people put newer stock rims on an older model?

You might be, OEM+ is the way to go. I've wheels from a 2004 A8 on my 2001 S4

The Chevy looks the same, the Dodge look silly and the Jeep looks good.

What about when people put older factory wheels on newer models? (I have no examples of this)

I'll admit that Jeep doesn't look too bad (probably because Jeep wheels are so evolutionary that it almost looks natural).

The '94-'01 Rams with '02 and newer 20s just look wrong, though.

The Jeep looks great in my opinion. We had an older Ford Mondeo and fitted newer Ford Focus alloys to it, improved it a lot. If done tastefully I approve of this practice.

for my own part, I have these wheels from a 2003+ Civic on my 96+ Civic. They are 16s instead of the stock 14s, and I think being OEM they look perfect. to me its about adding a little more size while looking like they belong

now, clearly you are a truck guy and I'm more into cars, but I think the philosophy is sound. I suspect we may both at least be able to agree that newer OEM wheels are better than just throwing on random aftermarket wheels?

Not really more of a truck guy versus car guy, I just tend to see it more on trucks. I think I mostly just prefer to leave wheels stock. :)

I think they look fine as long as they are close to the same diameter as the OE wheels. Maybe within 2" or so of stock? Putting 19" wheels on a car that came with 15"s looks tacky to me.

Yep, totally respect your and others opinions, just not attractive to me. Luckily, we have the freedom to do whatever we want to our vehicles and no one is right or wrong. :)

No, I actually agree!! With very few exceptions to the rule, an older car with wheels from the newer model looks like a trashy attempt at pretending to have traded up, to my eye.
